ABOUT SAMAJ

OUR SAMAJ

I. THE CULTURAL HERITAGE

The peace and prosperity of any nation depends on the preservation of the Cultural Heritage. Fortunately our country “Bharath” has inherited a heritage which has its deep roofs in the four Vedas. The Cultural Heritage is unique and supreme because the Vedas themselves are the power house of true and ultimate knowledge. Hence is it not our duty to follow the Sanathana Dharma (Vedic tradition) which has been protecting the generations from time immemorial ?

Such reflections of the past of spiritual minded bhakthas of West Mambalam, prompted the founding of an organization in the promotion of such core values with the sole aim of celebrating Sri Rama Navami festival, Lord Rama being embodiment of culture and dharmic tradition. Thus, the organization was founded in March 1954 after their efforts were blessed by no less an Ascetic than Poojya Sri Paramacharyal, the sage of Kanchi, later titled it as ‘Sri Ram Samaj’ and registered the same in February 1958, and the land sanctified by Sri Mahaswamigal of Kanchi Mutt in December 1957 with His Blessings.
